My research interests span from biomolecular engineering to biophysics with a focus on protein phase behavior and functional biomaterials by exploiting a set of soft matter approaches and microfluidic techniques. I was working as a postdoctoral research associate in the Chemistry Department at the University of Cambridge, UK for 2 and half years, where I was working on biophysical studies of protein liquid-liquid phase separation. I investigated the dynamics and probed the mechanical properties of biomolecular condensates by using microfluidic approaches. I completed my PhD in 2017 in the Department of Health Sciences and Technology at ETH Zurich, Switzerland, where I developed novel organic-inorganic hybrid biomaterials based on protein fibrils and nanoparticles for food and nutritional purposes. Before my PhD, I had the chance to work at Harvard University and Princeton University, USA on bacteria response to shear forces in microfluidic environments.
